As the global community lends its hands to the survivors and victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ 4th Watch-Dubai locale has also extended assistance by immediately donating Php 200,00 to Dalaw Kalinga Foundation (DKF), a trusted humanitarian and charity organization in the Philippines which is currently conducting rescue and rehabilitation operations in the storm-ravaged areas in the Visayas region.
To generate more funds in aiding the Yolanda victims, PMCC 4th Watch-Dubai and KALINGA Association successfully organized a charity drive called “Dinner For-A-Cause” last Nov 22, 2013 at Al Reef Tower, Sharja. For only Dhs 50 per meal ticket, donors not only had the chance to help, but they were also treated to a delightful buffet dinner accompanied by good live music from Dubai SOS and Final Watch Band. Another affair that evening was the public sale or auction of goods varying from shoes, garments, perfumes, bags and accessories among others.
In the coming days, Dubai brethren will be re-packing more relief goods which will also be sent to DKF, along with the proceeds of the Dinner For-A-Cause and auction. And through the initiative of Bishop Aldrin Palanca, on November 30, brethren all over the UAE will gather to Dubai Locale for a special morning devotion and fellowship program called “Prayer For the Nation”. Prayers and intercessions on this devotion will be especially devoted for the recovery of the storm victims and the Visayas province as well.
